Ok, so on top of brewing, I have another avocation in which yeast plays a major role. I like to bake breads. I know, I know, sorry mom, I couldn't help it, but I like it.
So today, I (a fairly inexperienced bread baker so far) started to make some sandwich bread. Everything went along just fine, and I got to the part where you put the two pieces of dough into the pans in which they are going to be baked to let them rise until ready for baking. Then I left to go to lunch. When I got back, they had been rising for a little too long, and they were oozing over the side of the loaf pans. Oh, crap. So I punched them down and resigned myself to the fact that I could either reroll the loaves, or just bake misshapen loaves for this time and vow to do better. I chose the latter, and they are happily baking away as we speak.
UPDATE:
The Bread was really good. Typical white bread with a really thick feel.

I'd like this journal to be for people that enjoy micro-brewed beer and all it's spin offs, as well as those that enjoy brewing at home, or long for something more.
I fit into all these categories. Some (including my wife) call me a bit of a beer snob. I have learned to accept this moniker and roll with it. I enjoy drinking in moderation and tasting the flavors and intracacies of beers from around the world. I have also been homebrewing for the last 5 years and am still getting a knack for it.
I don't have this blog thing down quite yet, so excuse any stupid mistakes/inabilities to get it running consistantly etc.
I guess that's it for now, look for future descriptions of my brewing equipment and the process we use for brewing.
